We are excited to share that Wellcome has generously supported our work on tissue mechanics of body axis symmetry. This grant will allow us to further push the technical boundaries of the mechanical tools, and comprehensively understand the physical mechanisms of body axis morphogenesis, important for many aspects of development including bilateral symmetry. These findings will shed light a variety of developmental defects in human, such as scoliosis and neural tube defects.

We are very thankful for Wellcome's continued support and their commitment to high-risk, fundamental research. The competitive application process received great support and feedback from group leaders at Gurdon and our collaborators.
